Today is World Cancer Day, a day that we will all have mixed emotions about. Every single one of us can relate to this due to knowing people like myself that have survived cancer.
However, there’s also the sad tragic side as we have lost a loved one to this vile disease. The first time I lost a family member was when I was a wee boy, I must have been between 6 – 8 years old at the time when my beautiful cousin Aileen passed away.
My brilliant mum died in November 2002 due to a brain tumour. I loved my mum to bits and I was a ‘mama’s bhoy’. We were devastated when she died as she was just a great woman. Yeah I know I am biased but even these days people that knew still speak very fondly about her.
Please support my amazing wife Kirsty by sponsoring her to raise much needed funds for the cancer charity Maggies. Or, how about joining Kirsty and being a member of Team One of Fifteen at this years Kilt Walk. Just click the link below.
