I started working with UNISON in November 2003. For those who read this Blog from other countries around the world, UNISON is the UK’s largest trade union. You will find UNISON members are employed across the public service’s across the UK, and what a great job they do keeping our public services running.

Throughout the last 12 years of my life with severe chronic pain issues, every time I was at a hospital, for either appointments, surgery, treatments etc, I always asked the staff if they were UNISON members. Then I would have a good blether with them and some times a right good laugh.

There are now 1.3 million members of UNISON these days and every member recieves a copy of the union’s magazine. I wrote to the union’s General Secretary, Dave Prentis to ask him if there was a way how the UNISON could support my One of Fifteen campaign. I also wanted to thank the union’s many members employed by both NHS Fife and NHS Lothian.

I was delighted when I was informed that the union would like to feature me in U magazine. The union sent me a bundle of magazines for family members and they also sent me a PDF of the article. The only way I was able to put the article on this site, was to save each page as a photo, then crop the page. So the three ‘photo’s’ are the article. I hope you enjoy reading it, if you would like me to sent you a copy of the PDF, then just fill in the Contact page with your email address and I will send you it.

Thank you Dave Prentis and the staff involved with this article at UNISON. I am so grateful and I appreciate the support they have given me.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this and for continuing to support my One of Fifteen campaign.
